The Energy Centres facilitate the adoption of the following biogas technologies:
- Fixed dome Biogas with a minimum size of 10m3 for a household of 6-8 people
- Floating drum design with a minimum size of 10m3 for a household of 6-8 people
Promoting the adoption and use of biogas is accomplished through:
- Formal request is made to Energy Centres by interested persons/groups
- Approval of request
- Demonstration and sensitization on biogas technology on agreed date
- Identification/Selection of beneficiaries (using set criteria)
- Procurement of a contractor
- Commencement of construction works
- Supervision of construction by the Energy Centres technical team
- Inspection and handover on completion
- Formal request for technical support in repair or rehabilitation.
- The technical team from Energy Centres visits the site to assess repair and rehabilitation requirements.
- Immediate repair for minor malfunctions.
- Estimation of materials required for rehabilitation.
- Acquisition of materials needed for rehabilitation by the client.
- Facilitation of an artisan by REREC to undertake the repair/rehabilitation works.
